Successful Metabolite Training School at Technische Universität Dortmund

March 21, 2016

The DISCO partner institution Technische Universität Dortmund hosted a Metabolite Training School from 14-18 March 2016. The event was organised in cooperation with the Medical University Poznan and the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf. The training school was attended by 18 young scientists from the TU Dortmund. Lectures and practival courses were provided by experts from 3 European countries (Prof. Fraser, UK / Prof. Murias, Poland as well as Prof. Kayser, Prof. Thommes, Dr. Stehle and Dr. Merz from the Universities in Dortmund and Düsseldorf/Germany).

The DISCO coordinator, Prof. Paul Fraser of Royal Holloway University of London, presented DISCO during the course of the training school and held a lecture on ‘Plant Biotechnology’. This gave the participants an excellent opportunity too gain first-hand expertise in the field and be exposed to the very latest research developments evolving from the EU framework programmes.

The Training School organized by Prof. Oliver Kayser at Technische Universität Dortmund offered a large range of different research topics and speakers allowing a balanced mix between in silico modeling and practical courses in the laboratory.
