Open for Registration: Metabolite Training School at Technische Universität Dortmund

February 25, 2016

From 14th-18th March 2016 the DISCO partner institution Technische Universität Dortmund organises and hosts a Metabolite Training School. The Training School is organised in cooperation with the Medical University Poznan and the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf and will give the opportunity to highlight benefits and challenges of latest techniques explained by experts from the field.

DISCO partners will participate, organise and provide expert lectures and practical classes. Prof. Paul Fraser, coordinator of the DISCO project will give a lecture on ‘Plant Biotechnology’. In the lecture examples will be provided to show the metabolic engineering of the carotenoid pathway in plants and microorganisms, how metabolomics can be used to characterise these new genotypes and the potential valorisation of the products. Prof. Fraser considers the Training School “an excellent opportunity for young scientists to gain first-hand expertise in the field and be exposed to the very latest research developments evolving from the EU framework programmes".
