Go East! DISCO at the TERPNET conference

The 13^th international meeting on Biosynthesis, Function and Synthetic Biology of Isoprenoids (TERPNET 2017) will take place from July 16-20, 2017 in Dalian, Northeast China.

TERPNET is an international affiliation of scientists working on all aspects of terpenes and isoprenoids. The research includes investigating the chemical structures and their biosynthetic mechanisms for assessing the biological activities of these chemicals and their industrial applications.

As invited speaker, DISCO coordinator Prof. Paul Fraser will present project activities at the TERPNET 2017. Within the session “Industrial Biotechnology of Terpenoids”, Prof. Fraser will give a talk on “Creating plant molecular factories for industrial and nutritional carotenoid production”. The talk will focus on the translational work performed by the DISCO consortium.

To maximize synergies, the TERPNET 2017 will be held jointly with the 4^th International Conference on Plant Metabolism and the 6^th International Meeting on Plant Cell Wall. As there is significant overlap between the subjects of the three meetings, this provides a unique chance to learn about recent progress in study of metabolites beyond terpenes and isoprepenoids, with the potential for making important connections to these related fields.
