First PhD awarded to early stage researcher in DISCO

December 13, 2016

Just in time for Christmas, Friederike Ullrich formerly working as PhD student at Technische Universität Dortmund and Boehringer-Ingelheim received her doctorate degree. She contributed to the work in DISCO examining the influence of abiotic factors on growth and biosynthesis of secondary plant components in Duboisia sp.

The training of young researchers is one key component of the EU funded research project DISCO, supporting not only their scientific expertise but also increasing their presentation and networking skills. Next to the dissemination of DISCO results via scientific publications, Friederike hence actively took part in the DISCO consortium meetings and presented the project at international conferences.

Friederike has become a part of the DISCO family and the whole consortium congratulates her and wishes her all the best for the future.
