Royal Holloway and Bedford New College

Royal Holloway and Bedford New College (RHUL) is within the top 10 universities in the UK with an international reputation for the highest quality teaching and research across the sciences, arts and humanities placing it within the top 50 universities in the world. The school of biology sciences is ranked 3rd in the UK reflecting the high quality of its outputs and infrastructure. 

Within the DISCO project, Prof. Paul D. Fraser will coordinate the scientific parts of the project and will lead the RHUL scientific team. He has over 20 years’ experience in both academia and industry within the UK and abroad (Germany and Japan). During this period Prof. Fraser has worked on the analysis, biosynthesis, regulation and metabolic engineering of carotenoids and other isoprenoids, both in plant and microbial systems. 

Prof. Fraser is also the coordinator of the FP7 METAPRO project  the Vice-chair of FA1006 High value products from plants and EU chair for the US/EU Taskforce on Plant Biotechnology-added value plant products working group.
