Fundación Fraunhofer Chile Research

Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is the leading organization for Applied Research in Europe. Its research activities are conducted by 66 Fraunhofer institutes at over 40 different locations throughout Germany. Fraunhofer Chile Research (FCR) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. Its aim is to improve industrial competitiveness through applied Research in Chile and the Latam region. The Centre for Systems Biotechnology works closely with Chilean research organizations and provides research services for a broad range of public and private enterprises not only in Chile but also the wider South American region.

Lothar Driller (MBA, Engineer for Biotechnology) will lead the FCR scientific team. He has over 12 years of experience in R&D, Process Management and Downstream Processing; primarily in the Pharmaceutical and Renewable Sources sector.

The FCR team will contribute its expertise in the field of translational biology, plant molecular breeding and aquaculture to the DISCO Project.
