Agenzia Nazionale Per Le Nuove Tecnologie, L’Energia e lo Sviluppo Economico Sostenibile (ENEA) is the 2^nd largest research organization in Italy, active in the areas of physics, high performance computing, climatology, energy and life sciences. The Green Biotechnology Laboratory, headed by Prof. Giuliano is active in the areas of plant and microalgal genomics and metabolic engineering. It has state-of-the art facilities for high throughput sequencing, metabolic profiling and transgenic plant generation and growth. Prof. Giuliano has 28 years of experience in plant biochemistry and molecular biology, particularly in the fields of plant genomics, carotenoid biosynthesis and metabolic engineering. Within DISCO, the working group of Prof. Giuliano will contribute its expertise in the fields of plant genetics and genomics, plant metabolism, systems biology, bioinformatics as well as Solanaceae and Crocus diversity collections.
